Sequoia Park Zoo
Established in 1907, the Sequoia Park Zoo is the oldest zoo in California and one of the smallest accredited zoos in the nation. The five acre zoo is currently home to over 140 animal ambassadors, many of whom are threatened species or non-releasable wildlife.
The zoo is set up against a grove of Old Growth Redwoods. There was a school group there that was amazingly well behaved. I watched 2 bush dogs hunt for food that was placed around their enclosure. I especially liked the Nancy Hilfiker free flight aviary. There were 2 African Grey Parrots whistling and talking away. There was some art around the zoo as well. See my Critters page for some pictures of the animals
