Pros: super friendly staff. they were able to accommodate my last minute 2 week reservation. Shady with Full hookups, pull through site. Free WiFi and Cable (which worked great the first few days before a rain storm – then nothing) Pool finally opened but water not heated. Bathhouse had hot water with good pressure. Nice laundry facilities. Close to all the Blackhills/Badlands attractions. Close to Rapid City.
Cons: this is an older park that could use an influx of cash to fix up the old infrastructure. The bath house needs sprucing up. Need more dumpsters, garbage over flowing in a few days. The water pressure was just a trickle. The cable in my row stopped working after a rainstorm. I was in a WiFi dead zone. Verizon barely functioned despite 2 bars. First time I was camped next to someone who turned on their motor home engine at 4 in the morning and ran it for 4 hours. I assume to heat their RV. FYI- Almost impossible to make a left turn onto Highway 16 out of the park.
Worth Noting: With 3 nights left to my stay, I asked about switching sites, the cable didn’t work, there were only 4 air stations, and my Verizon service was barely there. They did let me move, and everything improved immensely. Note to self – speak up earlier.
