Pros: Nice wooded area. Easy Pull through site. Nice shower and bath house. Super friendly owners. Gave me great leads on things to do and see in the area. Grants Pass just 15 miles away with everything you could need. Internet pretty good.
Cons: No Cable, limited Air TV channels.
Worth Noting: Just purchased Covered Wagons to rent. They are very cute.
Premier RV Resort – Redding
Premier RV Resort, Redding, CA. Site 52
Pros: Beautiful Resort. My site was right up against the creek. Lots of shade. Excellent Verizon coverage, great Air TV channels. Nice clean hot showers with good pressure. Close to everything you might need. Birds at the seed feeder and the hummer feeder.
Cons: No Cable
Worth Noting: This is one of the resorts that I really didn’t want to leave. It was lovely to sit outside the trailer and chill.
Santa Nella RV Park
Santa Nella, CA. – Site 63/64
Pros – Blessedly quiet after the last 2 sites (3 long weeks). Nice big spots. Nice Shower/Bathroom. Good Air TV and Verizon signal. Lots of fast food right across the street.
Cons – only 6 Cable channels (but they said they were in transition). No picnic table.
Worth Noting – Great National Wildlife Refuges to explore.
Shady Haven RV
Bakersfield, CA. – Site 130
Pros: Large spacious spaces. Free cable and cell service. Close to most amenities. Clean washrooms and showers with good pressure and hot water. Pool and Hot tub was open to one family at a time.
Cons: Right next to a very busy railroad track. Shook the trailer every time one went by. Not the best neighborhood.
Worth Noting – Had to search wide and far to find a safe place to take a walk.
Santa Fe RV Resort
San Diego, CA. Site A27
Pros: Free Wifi & Cable, Good Verizon Coverage. Close to anything you could need. 15 minutes to my daughter. Figured out how to use my sunshade as a privacy screen.
Cons: Worst location so far. 50 yards from I-5 and maybe 150 yds from a train track. Very Noisy. Tight spaces, lots of “messy” sites. Pricey for what you get.
Worth Noting: Nothing was open, not the pool or hot tub.
Shadow Hills RV Resort
Indio, CA. Site 52
Pros: I was lucky I had a private spot with tall shrubs on both sides of my spot. Great Verizon Coverage, free Wifi & Cable. Lovely pool and Spa. Cute little pond to walk around. Close to everything. Shower/bathroom facilities were clean. Hot showers with good water pressure. I had hummingbirds, songbirds, ducks and a roadrunner visit my site.
Cons: My site backed up right against a busy street. Pretty Pricey. While you can walk around inside the park, there are no sidewalks outside the park.
Worth Noting: While the Pool and Hot Tub were open, the rest of the public areas were closed. Fellow RVers were great about keeping a proper distance.
Gila Bend KOA
Gila Bend, AZ. Site 503
Pros: Huge level spots. Full hookups. Great Cellphone reception. Free wireless and cable. Pool heated at 90. Great Showers. Ample space to change and hang clothes and towels. Good water pressure and water hot. Great rec hall and veranda.
Cons: Not a lot near by.
Worth Noting: Only stayed here 3 nights.
Tombstone Territories RV Resort
Huachuca, AZ. Site W-1
Pros: Large resort. Full hookups. Large level spaces that blend in with the natural environment. Free Wifi and cable. Large rec room, enclosed pool and hot tub. Fully equipped kitchen. Lots of hiking paths around the park. Hot showers with good pressure. Sierra Vista 30 minutes away with everything you would need.
Cons: Poor cellphone reception. Shower stalls a little weird with no where to hang clothes and towels.
Worth Noting – Bad cable reception in the “W” section where I was parked – The space reserved for me was still occupied – seems the people before me did not leave and were no where to be found . This section though had lots of trees and was very birdy. I liked the people and the feel of this park. IF the cell phone reception improves I would definitely winter here.
Silver City RV Park
Silver City, NM. Site 9
Pros: Right in the heart of the city. Easy walking distance to historic downtown and lots of shops and restaurants. Great Verizon coverage, free wifi and cable. Cute little coffee shop on site.
Cons:
Worth Noting: Silver City is a lovely art town of 10,000 people.
Mission RV Park
El Paso. TX SIte D18
Pros: Enclosed heated Pool and Hot Tub. Easy pull thru spots. Full Hookups, Free Cable (make sure you have a cable coupler though). Large Laundry facility, clean hot showers with good pressure. Easy access to anything you need.
Cons: Very narrow sites. I couldn’t open my awning I was so close to my neighbor. Right next to a spaghetti of highways. Shower changing area was pretty tight.
Worth Noting: Hot tub was connected to the pool allowing pool water in, it wasn’t as hot as it could/should be.
Rio Grand Village RV Campground
Big Bend, TX. Site 18
Pros: Great Access to the whole National Park. Full Hookup. Level sites. Wifi available at store. Store and Laundry on site.
Cons: No Cell Service, No Air TV or Cable. Showers cost $2 for 5 minutes. Only one of 3 functions properly. There were 100 8th graders there at the same time in the group site.
Worth Noting: Coyotes were walking around the area every evening. Javelinas came and browsed in the open areas. Road Runners everywhere. Irrigation flooded different areas throughout the week.
Canyons RV Park
Sanderson, TX. Site 8
Pros: Wide Open, Quiet. Easy Pull-through level sites. Full Hookups. Laundry and Shower facility, Nice view of the mountains.
Cons: No Air TV or Cable. Showers cost $3. No one on site. No restaurants open.
Worth Noting: Only stayed one night. Interesting maze of a hardware store in town.
SB RV Park
Carrizo Springs, TX. Site 26
Pros: Very friendly owners. Free Cable and Wifi (had my own router and cable box). I was able to synch all my photos and work on my blog finally. Wide open spaces. Good Cell service. No Air TV. Laundry. Wide open spaces. Deer are fed at night.
Cons: No Showers. No public bathrooms. Pool closed for winter. Nothing close at all. Must drive an hour to get to anything.
Worth noting: This was a stop over point for me on my way to the Rio Grande.
Chimney Park RV Resort
Mission, TX. Site 224
Pros: Nice Pool and hot tub. Pool heated to 85 in winter. Some Air TV. Super nice people at the park. Definitely a close knit community. Tons of activities. Right on the Rio Grande River Close to all the Rio Grande Valley World Birding Centers. Everything you need very handy. Mc Allen is a growing community. Showers were a little outdated but water pressure and heat were great. Very reasonably priced.
Cons: Very weak Verizon Coverage, wifi only available in club house. No Cable. No kitchen for public use. The landscape is pretty rough out here. Not sure I could spend more than a month here. Felt a little insecure being on the inside of the river levee.
Worth Noting: A border fence is scheduled to go up starting in April across the levee. It will take over a year to build. and the park will be on the Mexico side of the fence (but still on American side)
KOA South Padre
South Padre, TX Site 167
Pros: Pool and Hot Tub. Showers had good pressure and hot water. Restaurant within walking distance. Good Wifi, cellphone coverage and free cable. Beach a bit of a walk away. Right on the water. Easy access to everything you might need. Great Birding and Nature Spots close by. Love the Turtle Institute and Nature Trails. Largest beach deck in Texas a few miles away. Tons of activities at the park. Service available to have your RV washed on site! Bob never looked better
Cons: No community kitchen. Spaces are tight. The pool had a strange vibe for me, surrounded by concrete and unpleasantly lit.
Worth Noting: I could definitely stay in this area for several months. But not at the KOA. Too pricey. There is Port Isabella RV Park Center that is well worth considering. Yes you have to drive 4 miles over the bridge to get to the island and beach, but the park is much more laid back and reasonably priced.
Port A RV Resort
Port Aransas, TX Site 52
Pros: Great Park! Spacious sites. Two Pools, one kept at 90 degrees in winter! One hot tub. Two club houses with kitchens you can use. Lots of activities. Free Cable, good cell service. Laundry. Great views of the wildlife center. Tons of birding opportunities. I could definitely stay here several months.
Cons: Bright lights at night. Showers only ok. No shower at the pool/hot tub. Beach over a mile away so can’t walk to. Amenities 30 minutes away in Corpus Christi
Worth Noting: Birding is very popular here. Whooping Crane Festival in February. If here long term – the darkest night areas (and cheapest) and closest to the hot tub are: 121-125, 136-140
Dellanera RV Park
Galveston, TX Site 38
Pros: Site right on the beach. Best birding spot yet. Good Wifi, Okay Cell Service. Easy drive to dining, shopping and movie theater. Laundry only $1 each washer/dryer. Great beach walking
Cons: No Cable. Showers hot but weak pressure.
Worth Noting: Went into my first Kroger Grocery store here. It felt like being back home shopping at Fred Meyers. Check out Jamaica Beach for the place to camp.
Sam Houston Jones State Park
St. Charles, LA Site 37
Pros: Free Laundry! Quite Park on the St. Charles River. Great hiking trails. Good Cell Service and Air TV. Lots frog noise at night. Short drive to shopping and dining. Nice and quiet.
Cons: Needed to push the shower button every 20 seconds. Water was hot, but very little pressure. No sewer hookup.
Worth Noting: St. Charles waterfront park is lovely.
French Quarter RV Park
New Orleans, LA
Pros: Walking distance to the French Quarter. They provide free ice. There is a hot tub and pool (unheated). Free Cable and WiFi. Good Verizon coverage. Good Air TV receptions. Very clean. 4 Individual toilets/shower rooms. Water very hot, pressure ok.
Cons: Most Expensive Laundry to date. ($2.50 each for washer and dryer). Bright lights in parking lot. Not the best neighborhood. Shower control strange, the hottest setting was somewhere in the middle.
Worth Noting – The Hop On Hop Off Bus stop is just a few blocks away. The zoo is a short drive away.
Pensacola Beach RV Park
Pensacola Beach, FL. Site 18
Pros: Walking distance to lots of restaurants. Very Clean park. Helped with parking. Blues Brothers statues all over the office building. Individual Showers/Bathrooms. Water hot, pressure only ok. Good Wifi and Good Verizon coverage. Good Cable channels. Close to everything you might need in Pensacola. Heated pool.
Cons: Very Pricy. My waterfront spot, had a blocked view. Tiki Lounge was closed for the season.
Worth Noting: Blue Angels are based here – but they don’t practice all year.
Coastline RV Resort
Eastpoint, FL. Site 5
Pros: Right across the street from the gulf. Sunrise to the Left, Sunset to the Right. Full hookups. Great pool, and clubhouse. Amazing showers (hot water with great pressure) and bath house. 10 miles from Apalachicola and St. George Island with amazing beaches. Great Verizon reception, okay wifi at trailer. Great wifi in clubhouse.
Cons: A good hour and half drive to a movie theater in Tallahassee
Worth Noting: Sister campground a few lots away. 10 miles from Apalachicola and St. George Island with amazing beaches.
Low Key Hideaway Resort
Cedar Key, FL. Site 3
Pros: Right on the water front. Tiki Bar within a few yards. Small Park, only 9 sites. Excellent birding right from the campsite. Best sunsets ever. Full hookups. P Nice hot water and good pressure in shower.
Cons: Very close to the highway. Lots of car noise. People like to honk their horns when the drive by. Verizon connection pretty weak. Wifi, pretty weak as well. Only one shower and the shower stall is small.
Worth Noting: Quick drive into Cedar Key. Good hiking close by. Loved the Bat House in Lower Suwannee.
Koreshan State Park
Estero, FL (Near Ft. Myers). Site 2
Pros: Nice private sites. Not many lights at night! Electric and water at site. Good hiking trails. Shower ok. Pressure good, hot water good. OK cell service, Good Air TV. Close to all shopping and movies you can think of.
Cons: No sewage at sites. No wifi.
Worth Noting: Halfway between Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge and Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. (2 favorite birding areas)
Flamingo Campground
Flamingo, FL (In Everglades National Park. Site 27 – T Loop
Pros: Huge Pull Through sites. Showers in T-Loop are cold need to walk .25 mile to shower with solar heated water. Close to marina, and Florida Bay. Tons of hiking and boating opportunities. Birds are everywhere. Heard Barred Owls at night.
Cons: No water or sewage at sites. No Cell service, wifi, or air TV. Nearest town 30 miles away. Black vultures like to eat the rubber on car windows and windshield wipers.
Worth Noting: AT&T only cell service that works. Forgot to take photo of campsite again!
Boyds Campground of Key West
Key West, FL. Site 117
Pros: Water front site. Free Cable and Wifi. Good Cell Service. Cuban Food Truck on site. Personal Shower Stalls. Good water pressure and hot water. 2 restaurants within walking distance.
Cons: Naval Air Base nearby. Jets can get quite noisy. No real beach.
Worth Noting: Iguanas and Chickens are everywhere.
Cracker Barrel

Pros: Lots of fellow Airstreamers. Very well maintained. Good Cell Service. OK Air TV. 15 minute drive to the beach.
Cons: Not many services. No showers, no Laundry, No Cable. Too well lit at night.
Worth Noting: This is mostly for residential folks.
Welaka Lodge
Welaka, FL. Site 2
Pros: Hot Tub! Pool, Riverside Bar & Grill. Small campground right on the St. John River. Very friendly people. Held a potluck on Thursday. Close to Welaka St. Park. Great Cell phone service. A restaurant and bar within walking distance.
Cons: Bathrooms were a little outdated. No Cable, very few air tv channels.
Worth Noting: This may be a good place to spend a winter season. They offer work camping for free campsite. 45 minutes to St. Augustine/coast. They also do a lot of volunteering.
Rivers End Campground
Tybee Island, GA (near Savannah). Site 42
Pros: Beautiful Park, close to the beach. Small town feel. 15 minute drive to Savannah. Good Cell Reception. Ok Wifi. Free Cable. Nice little TV room to get out of the rain. Clean bathrooms / showers. (all individual). Water was hot, pressure was ok. Office well staffed and stocked. Someone helps you with parking.
Cons: Bathrooms were not warm. Pool was closed for the season.
Worth Noting: This was my first streak of bad weather so far. The rain was loud on the trailer. Did find a Mall that was not on its death bed.
John’s RV Airstream Sales and Service

Pros: Full Hookup, Good Cell Phone Service, Good Air TV. Steps away from Airstream Sales and Service. No Charge while I wait for a part to arrive.
Cons: Not really an RV park. Parking lot lights are quite bright.

Pros: Good sized level pull through site. Good cell service. Good AirTV. Good Cell Service. Clean Bathhouse. Wifi OK. Walking distance to grocery and restaurant. Had a little duck pond with interesting geese in it. Not sure what breed.
Cons: No real hiking trails.
Worth Noting: This was a last minute booking so I could get Bob’s refrigerator repaired
Ocean Lakes Family Campground
Myrtle Beach, SC. Site 2115
Pros: Just steps from the beach. Huge level pull through site. Good cell service. Good AirTV. Good Cable. Nice Bathhouse. Wifi OK. Close to all things touristy in Myrtle Beach. Snack shop/grill on site. Indoor pool was open, the water park was closed. No real reason to leave the park. Could sometimes hear the waves from my site. Miles of beach to walk. Miles of campground to walk as well.
Cons: Very Touristy area. Not so bad in November.
Worth Noting: Lots of services come to your site: propane refill, RV washing, RV repair. Lots of rental/lease places.
Tranters Creek
Washington, NC. Site 133
Pros: Huge level pull through site. Good cell service. Good AirTV. Nice Bathhouse. Wifi OK. Nice access to the creek. Close to restaurants and shops.
Cons: Showers are warm but not hot. Laundry was the most expensive yet – $2 each for washer and dryer.
Worth Noting: Interesting Residential trailers with screened in areas. I could see the possibilities
Rockahock Campground
Lanexa, VA. Site 366
Pros: Long but skinny level site. Pull thru with concrete pad and a Patio. Great Italian restaurant right on the site. Great outdoor venue. The bathrooms were clean. Cable, ok free wifi, wireless connection OK.
Cons: Showers were hot but not the best pressure. Bath house was quite a bit of a walk from the campsite. Laundry facility was closed.
Worth Noting: They were repaving the roads while I was there.
Christmas Pines RV Park

Pros: Huge level site. People super nice. Good cell service. Good Cable. Close to Hershey. Very Quiet.
Cons: Showers are warm but not hot. Wifi Hot Spot only at Office.
Worth Noting: Ford Dealer not far away. No Airstream Repair places close by.
Newburgh KOA Holiday

Pros: Good sized spots. Free Wifi throughout the campground. Super nice staff. Good phone service. Free Pancakes on the weekend. Showers were clean, water was hot, pressure was weak though
Cons: Very poor cable reception. A little pricey
Worth Noting: Huge Halloween Activities the last 2 weekends in October. The camp was magical spooky. Campsites were all out decorated. Seemed to attract a lot of families and college aged campers. Most of the amenities were closed down this time of year.

Pros: Small but level spot with parking pad. Good cell service and Free Cable TV. Bathrooms and showers clean. Showers cost $1.00 for 8 minutes. Laundry facilities nice. 1 mile from the beach. Nice walk on sidewalks, no need to cross a busy street.
Cons: The woman at the desk, was set in her ways, and didn’t like the fact that I had trailer backup assist and demanded I turned it off so she could guide me the way she knows how.
Worth Noting: I forgot to take a picture of my campsite.
Cedar Haven Family Campground
Freeport, ME. Site 53
Pros: Nicest camp managers so far. Helped me change out my propane tanks, and trouble shoot my refrigerator problems. Full Hookups. Good cellphone coverage and air tv. Free Wifi. Cute little pond with kayaks and paddle boats. Great spacious showers. Just a few short miles to Freeport. (Home of LL Bean)
Cons: Acorns were coming down in by the scores. I even got hit in the head by them, and they are loud on the airstream.
Worth Noting: I really enjoyed the Lobster fishing tour.
Cannon Mountain RV Campground
Fraconia, NH. Site 3
Pros: Full Hookups. Paved parking pads. Very Level. Right next to Echo Lake. Near to everything needed in Fraconia Notch. Some Air TV channels. 4 miles from town of Franconia
Cons: Basically set in a huge parking lot. No cell service or wifi. No bathroom facilities except 9-5 on weekends.
Worth Noting: Only 7 sites here. Showers can be found in Lafayette Campground Lodge. Bring your quarters.
North Beach Campground
Burlington, VT. Site 101
Pros: Super easy access to Lake Champlain Beach. Good beach to walk on. Right next to a bike trail also good for hikes. Liked that the bathrooms/showers facility had a screen door. Big Park. Office open every day. Okay cell service, good wifi though. Good Air TV Channels. Practically in Burlington – close to all services.
Cons: I had a small shady site. Weird layout – My “patio” area was facing directly towards my neighbors, not much privacy.
Worth Noting: Local High school right next door. Students running through park in the afternoon and biking through to get to school.
Saratoga Escape RV Resort
Greenfield Center NY. Site 61
Pros: Lovely spot on the pond/lake. Huge pools (but were closed for the season) Nice hiking trail around the pond. Nice Mini Golf course on site – but again closed down. Good Air TV & Phone Reception. Wifi near the camp store only.
Cons: The office was closed Tues & Wed. Restroom, showers and laundry could all be updated. The site was not level at all.
Worth Noting: Very close to Saratoga Springs, with access to about anything you would need.
River Forest Park Campground
Weedsport, NY. Site MG
Pros: Restaurant and pool on site. Huge Park and Marina right on the river. Wide open spaces. Can get in a good walk just around the sites. Okay cell service and air tv. The bathroom/showers were adequate.
Cons: The office is only attended Fri-Sun. No Wifi, Only one Bathroom/shower facility. The laundry was out of service. Many of the sites were flooded. The road to sites was full of large potholes. The playground for kids was rusted out.
Worth Noting: 30 minute drive to Seneca Falls. Auburn has a good grocery store just 8 miles away
Branches of Niagara RV Resort
Grand Island, NY. Site 24
Pros: Amazing resort. 3 pools, a fishing pond, zip lines, canoe and kayak rentals, minigolf course, crafts, wide open spaces. Weekend activities. Nice store and office. Big sites. Clean modern bathrooms/showers/laundry. Free wifi. Excellent cell service and air TV. Close to Niagara Falls. Choice of full hookups or just water and electric. Wish I had more time to stay now that the holiday rush is over.
Cons: The park is on an island, there is a $1 toll to get on the island managed by EZ pass.
Worth Noting:
Willow Lake Campground
Woodstock, ON. Site H
Pros: Nice pool and game room. Owners very nice. Wifi available by pool (no streaming.) Nice pull through site. Bathrooms and showers near the pool nice. Not far from Woodstock.
Cons: Bathroom closest to my site, was dirty, and old. No Cable, only 3 air TV stations. No walking trails.
Worth Noting: Verizon Unlimited worked in Ontario, but at very reduced speeds and amounts.
Beadle Bay Marina and RV
Sand Point, MI. Site 40
Pros: On the canal waterfront. Good Wildlife. Okay Cell Service. Free Wifi. Showers and Bathrooms okay. Caseville County Park & Beach a 10 minute drive away.
Cons: Waterfront sites require parallel parking. Electric hookup is Marine – need Adapter. Hookup is down by the water more than 40ft from where you park. Water comes straight from the canal, supposedly is drinkable but tasted funny. Spigot leaked big time. Owners not anywhere around. 2 kids were onsite, but not readily available during the day. The place is in disrepair. The road to the campsites is filled with potholes. No access to Lake Huron.
Worth Noting: Better camping to be found at Caseville County Park.
Muskegon State Park
Muskegon, MI. Site 50
Pros: Large spacious sites. Easy access to beach and sunsets over Lake Michigan. Showers and restrooms very clean. Lots of trails to explore. Easy drive into N Muskegan and Muskegan.
Cons: Very unlevel sites. No water or Sewer at site. Wifi barely functional. Minimal cellphone service.
Worth Noting: Ice Cream shop set up right outside the park within walking distance of campsites.
BFF Driveway
Fox Hill RV Park & Campground
Baraboo, WI. Site G23
Pros: Nice Pool, well supplied office and store. Pull thru site with full hookup. Showers and restrooms very clean, but a little stuffy. Also had outdoor enclosed showers that I preferred. Nature trails on site. Close to Devils Lake and the Wisconsin Dells.
Cons: Wifi barely functional. Minimal cellphone service. Full afternoon sun again.
Worth Noting: Work is being done to put in a pond and add another Shower/Restroom facilities, and add more sites.
Lake Elmo Reserve
Lake Elmo, MN. Site 41
Pros: 80% of the Reserve is protected natural lands. Lots of lakes, marshes, prairies and trees. I can hear loons, bullfrogs, and other birds from my campsite. The campsites are huge and spacious. Very clean and spacious bathroom and showers. Best recycling effort from the trip so far. 5 minutes to town for groceries, gas and even a movie theater. Ok cell service. Plenty of air TV channels.
Cons: 30 and 20 Amp only, No Wifi, no water or sewer hookup (but there is a dump and can get water there too)
Worth Noting: This fall they are updating the electrical systems in the modern campground, and adding water to more sites and sewer hookups to a few.
Gunflint Pines Resort
Grand Marais, MN. Site 1
Pros: OMG Right on Gunflint Lake. Hearing the gentle lapping of the lake and the loons daily. Sitting by the lake watching the sun set. Great owner and staff. Wifi available by the hour. Fun family activities during the week. Nice selection of groceries and gifts.
Cons: I had to back Bob up a hill around trees in a very tight spot again. Mosquitos are out there. No cellphone service. No air TV service (but that is ok in my book here)
Worth Noting: Grand Marais is 45 miles away down the Gunflint Trail.
Lake Bemidji State Park
Bemidji, MN. Site 80
Pros: Large woodsy park. No traffic noise. Lots to do: swimming on the lake, miles of trails to hike or bike, canoes and bike rentals, birds and bogs. Close to town. Free Wifi. Ok cell service, some air tv channels. My site was super close to the bathrooms and showers.
Cons: I had to back Bob up a hill around trees in a very tight spot. Had to fold my truck mirror in order to squeeze in. Mid-July provided many bugs. The May flies were the most annoying.
Worth Noting: MN state parks do not provide water. Luckily I had plenty in my tanks. You can get water near the dump site.
Red River Recreation Area
East Grand Forks, MN. Site 41
Pros: Large suburban park. Linden trees were in bloom and smelled marvelous. I had goldfinches on my picnic table. Good cellphone service. Super large sites mostly pull through. Less than half a mile walk to restaurants, a movie theater and Cabelas.
Cons: No Wifi or Cable, I unfortunately picked a site facing the afternoon sun again and it was HOT. Thankfully I have umbrellas and I got creative hanging towels from my awning to shade the entry to the trailer.
Worth Noting: Sites 57 or 36 would be ideal for afternoon shade and proximity to the showers.
Dakota Territory Air Museum (Harvest Hosts)
Minot, ND
Pros: Big parking area. Surrounded by Airforce Jets! Good cellphone service, good air tv channels. Surrounded by prairie dogs. Got to watch airplanes take off and land from the airport. Great Museum of airplanes.
Cons: Minot is right on the border of Mountain and Central Time, my cellphone kept switching from one time zone to the other. BTW – Minot is on the Central side.
Worth Noting: I was in heaven sitting in the shade of my airstream watching airplanes and prairie dogs do their thing.
Wolf Point Area Heritage Museum (Harvest Hosts)
Wolf Point, MT
Pros: Big parking area. Good shade tree. Option of 30 watt hookup – but in full sun (I opted for the shade). Museum great preservation of history of the area. Good cell phone service and some air tv channels. Walking distance to their historic downtown.
Cons: In between HWY-2 and the train tracks. Again, noise mostly came from the highway.
Worth Noting: I was in town for their “Stampede” weekend. The museum hosted a pancake breakfast the morning I was there. And, while the parking lot was super full, I was able to maneuver out of the lot just fine.
Havre RV Park
Havre, MT. Site 10
Pros: Very Clean. Access to pool and hot tub at neighboring hotel. Private bathroom and shower rooms. Lovely flowering trees at the sites. Good cellphone and air TV.
Cons: Just a few feet from HWY-2. Traffic noise was loud. The sewer hook up was at a weird spot had to back in diagonally in order to access it.
Worth Noting: There was a casino on the property. Although we were also backed up to the train tracks, there was not any real train noise.
Rocky Mountain HI Campground
Kalispell, MT. Site 19
Pros: Great Staff, Great Location, Wildly eclectic sites. From wide open grassy areas, to forested sites. Swimming hole and canoe rentals. Good Wifi and cellphone reception and great cable. Like that they provided access to an online TV guide. Clean bathrooms and showers. Great Laundry facility Reasonably Priced.
Cons: Bathrooms and showers were not the best. Had to key in a code in a dark entry way, at night had to use a flashlight. The bathroom stalls were very short and the toilets very low to the ground. I hit my forehead on the door lock knob on my way to sit down.
Worth Noting: 30 minutes from Glacier National Park and Flat Head Lake.
Fairmont Hot Springs Resort
Fairmont Hot Springs, BC. Site 139
Pros: Huge Resort. Large Hot Spring Pool and diving area. Multiple restaurants to choose from. Many hiking trails right from the resort. Spaces well maintained. Showers and Laundry good. Onsite Spa services. Very birdy: Multiple types of hummingbirds, cedar waxwings, ravens and woodpeckers.
Cons: Lighting in the bathrooms/showers were flickering. Showers were push button type and had to re-push often.
Worth Noting: 30 minutes to Kootenay Park, 2 hrs to Banff, Lake Louise, and Yolo Parks. Good Wifi (but couldn’t stream from my apps out of country) and good cell coverage (with my unlimited Verizon Plan)
Whitefish RV Park
Whitefish, MT. Site 33
Pros: Quiet. Good Price. Walking distance to some restaurants and shops. 10 minute drive to everything an RVer may need (Costco, Walmart, REI, Cabelas, Target etc…). Good cell phone service, good WiFi coverage, Cable TV. Bathroom, showers and Laundry are adequate.
Cons: Very small sites. Mostly residential trailers. The sign was being swapped out when I got there, so it was very hard to find.
Worth Noting: I only spent one night here.
Jim & Mary’s RV Park
Missoula, MT. Site C6
Pros: Lovely RV Park, with spacious shady sites. Great service and friendly staff. Shower and Laundry facilities clean and spacious. Great cell phone service, good WiFi coverage, Cable TV. Missoula is only 10 minutes away. Lots of great day trip opportunities. Music and Ice Cream social on Wednesday night.
Cons: Somewhat close to train tracks. Sometimes the squealing wheels woke me up. Not really walkable outside the park.
Worth Noting: It’s a gardeners delight. There are many beautiful garden spots throughout the park.
Granite Lake RV Resort
Clarkston, WA. Site 23
Pros: Beautiful park, large spacious site right on the water. Extremely nice and helpful staff. Walking distance to Costco, Walmart and Walgreens. Excellent cellphone signal. Wifi and Cable provided (but you get more Air Channels than cable. Restrooms/Showers are immaculate and roomy.
Cons: One day no hot water in showers. Response quick to resolve
Worth Noting: The resort was so lovely, I didn’t want to leave, so I didn’t.
Cove Palisades State Park
Culver City, OR. Site A-25
Pros: Beautiful park, large spacious site. Redmond is 30 minutes away. Lovely shady spot in the morning.
Cons: Extremely steep entrance into and out of the park. Only occasional cell service very weak signal. No Air TV stations. No Wifi. Full on sun in the afternoon and evening.
Worth Noting: I would consider staying at the Crooked River Campsite instead of the Deschutes one to save the steep access.
Crater Lake RV Park
Prospect, OR. Site 22
Pros: Very helpful staff, nice and clean little park. Nicely wooded, my lot size okay. Good Wifi. Easy hiking trails to rivers, gorges, and waterfalls nearby. Few amenities (cafe, pizza place, Laundromat, library and small grocery) within a mile.
Cons: Only occasional cell service very weak signal. No Air TV stations. But can rent Direct TV.
Worth Noting: Delightful free entertainment (Oregon Old Time Fiddlers) and weenie roast (with s’mores)
Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort
Mt Shasta, CA. Site 278
Pros: Huge wooded sites, beautiful lake with beach, hiking trails, onsite restaurant and snack shop, Summer evening movies outside, kayak rentals, Okay cellphone signal, Closest town 6 miles away. Not too buggy (early June). Warm days, cool nights. Easy place to hang out and do nothing.
Cons: No Wifi, Shower stall did not drain, Cable was advertised but not available (switching services available in a couple of weeks). No Air TV stations, Yellow Jackets just coming out
Worth Noting: Temps in the 80s. Cooled off with daily afternoon thunderstorm between 4 and 6, then generally cleared up afterwards
Mad River RV Resort
Arcata, CA. Site 12
Pros: Pool and Hot tub, Had the hot tub to myself most nights. Pull through spot, very level concrete pad, Clean Shower facilities, Good Laundry on site. Closest town 3 miles away, Good Cellphone Reception, Good Air TV channels.
Cons: Tiny site, Campground very lit up at night, cold and windy, no walking trails
Worth Noting: Felt very suburban. Got my first hummingbird at my feeder.
Turtle Rock RV Resort

Pros: Private Hot Tub! Easy walk to the beach, Large secluded Site, Private clean shower rooms, Good Laundry on site. Closest town 1 miles away, a few Air TV channels. OK Cellphone reception
Cons: SIte backed up to Highway 101, traffic noise, Sewer way far back in site, cold and windy,
Worth Noting: Watched in International Space Station cross the sky 2 nights in a row!
South Beach State Park

Pros: Close to town, close to beach, camp hosts very friendly, good hiking trails, good showers, huge campground. Good Air TV Channels, Good Cellphone reception
Cons: Tiny Site, set on a corner, lots of camp traffic, cold and windy, huge line up for dump
Worth Noting: Very close to the beach, but have to hike over a huge dune to get to it.
Blue Heron French Cheese (Harvest Host)
Tillamook, OR
Pros: Free, can stay 2 nights, right on the farm, easy access to restaurant, wine tasting and cheese tasting, petting zoo. Good Cellphone Reception
Cons: No Hookups, No real hiking trails
Worth Noting: Watched them shear some llamas, and woke up to guinea fowl surrounding the trailer.
Sou’wester Historic Lodge
Seaview, WA. Site #56
Pros: Very artsy campground. Rentable vintage trailers on site. Grassy site, Lodge had entertainment Saturday night. Sauna, Massage available, Very nice people running it. Some Air TV Channels, Okay cellphone reception, Easy walk to beach. Coastal weather prominent.
Cons: Campsites are close together on a big grassy field with little privacy
Worth Noting: Love the vibe of this place.
Sol Duc Hot Springs National Park
Sol Duc, WA. Site #6 (#9 is the best)
Pros: Right in the middle of Gods Country. Hot Springs, Lovely hiking trails. Small site (only 17 hookups). Great Camp Host. Close to my favorite: Lake Crescent
Cons: Campsites are close together on a big gravel lot separated by raised logs. No Wifi, No Cell Reception, No Air TV. Closest town 40 minute drive. Park was overrun during the weekend by giant RVs (all one family) and they were not respectful of the park.
Worth Noting: This park in in the rain forest, but there was a week of dry warm weather while I was there.
Footloose & Fancy Free
